The Crimson Tide baseball team has been playing now for quite some time for the NCCA Division I College baseball league, representing the University of Alabama.

Crimson tide which has successfully gone far in their game of baseball is also known to have taken part in the Southeastern and the Western division Conference as well. The hosting of all games played by Crimson Tide takes place at the Sewell-Thomas Stadium which is on their home ground.

It is said that the Stadium can accommodate more than 6571 spectators and fans altogether and Alabama has been winning a record number of just over 2000 games, continuously for the past several years. Mitch Gaspard is their head coach at present.

He replaced the coach that helped Alabama win all the matches in the early years. His name was Jim Wells. There are a number of players that went to play major league after graduating from Alabama University.

Some of the players included John Baumgarner, Jack Bolling, Ike Boone, Andy Cohen, Lance Cromier and may more. We are going to take a closer look at some of the stats of a few selected well known players that made it to major league.

Taylor Mark Tankersely, who was born on 7th March 1983 and commenced his baseball career with Florida Marlins and plays as a relief pitcher, is one of the most popular players and is a left batsman as well as a left thrower. His two years at the pros has earned him an impressive win loss ratio of 8:3 with 108 strike outs and an average run rate of 4.25.

Another popular player was Tommy Hunter who was born on July 3rd, 1986. He plays as a starting pitcher wearing the number 35 for the Texas Rangers. Tommy made his debut for the Texas Rangers on August 1’st, 2008. He is still currently playing for the rangers and has already had a remarkable career with a win loss ration at 9-8. His Earned run average at the current moment is 5.20 and has 73 strike outs.

One of the most recent players to join major league from the Alabama University is David Robertson who made his debut with the New York Yankees on 29th June 2008. Born on 9th April 1985, David is another famous player that has come through the University of Alabama.

A relief pitcher for the Yankees, David wears the number 30 for them and has incredible stats of a win loss ratio of 6:1. His success continues with an earned run rate of 4:14 and 99 strike outs. Being young and successful, he managed to take part in the 2009 World Series Championship. A lot is expected of this young hopeful in the future.
