In their quest to build muscle fast and just hit the weights, most body builders over look one of the most important aspects of building muscle. Warming up.

You will have a much more effective workout when you take the time to warm up properly. The two main reasons why you should warm up are

a) It increases the amount of weight your body can handle.

2. Reduces the risk of injury to your joints and muscles.

I recommend structuring your warm up into three mini-parts. Trust me, it is a lot less work than it sounds. First you should do a light cardio exercise on either the treadmill or any of the other cardio machines. Stairmaster and cycle machines are fine too. The cardio should be light so that you do not burn energy that is best used for making your workout as intense as possible. 5 minutes at 3.5 miles/hr works great.

This stimulates your heart and lungs and triggers the secretion of synovial fluid which lubricates your joints. Synovial fluid is a viscous egg-yolk-like fluid that sits between your joints. It helps reduce friction during moment.

After you complete cardio, next you will want to stretch thoroughly. Don’t simply go through the motions and breeze through this. Make sure you feel a little tension in the muscle but no pressure on the joints. There are wrong and right ways to stretch and the proper form is illustrated in the link below. Stretching is often overlooked by most body builders but can make a significant difference in how great your workout will be.

Once you complete the stretches use light weights to exercise your target muscle groups. This is the third and final part of the warm up phase. It is not necessary to do this for all the muscles-just the ones you will be hitting that day. If you’ll be doing chest and back, do chest and back exercise with extremely low poundages and several repetitions.

With each part taking about 5 minutes you can complete the entire warm up phase in about fifteen minutes. Your goal should always be to do short intense workouts and spend as little time as possible in the gym. In total try and get in and out of the gym in less than 90 minutes. 15 minutes for warm up and roughly an hour of intense workout. Use the time you do cardio to mentally prepare for the intense workout.

A practice I found useful in my ’skinny nerd’ days was to perform vivid mental visualizations of the body I wanted to attain. I did this while doing cardio since cardio can be mind numbing. It helped me focus and have more intense workouts and it can help you too. Most successful body builders and sports stars will tell you that visualization is for real and contributed immensely to their success.

In closing, don’t be like those muscle heads who storm into the gym and begin lifting weights immediately. They are the ones who usually have nagging injuries. Warm up and your body will thank you.

Building Muscle In 4 Easy Steps

Are you fed up with Tom, Dick and Harry telling you how to pack your muscles? Does it make you sad to look the way you do? Are the workouts not paying off? Maybe it is time you spent time on take the muscle building process step by step. This four- step guide is safe and it works for sure.

One of the reasons that you are not gaining the muscles you desire might be because you are not following all the steps in the right way. So set these basics right before you go forward and you will be rewarded with the figure you want.

So without any drugs and fake supplements, just start following the four steps which would really help to build muscles.

- Promise yourself to weight train three or four times a week. The strength training will induce your muscles to grow. Follow this with a rest and good food which will aid the muscle growth. Do this on a continuous basis. The right thing to do would be to give a three day break between the workouts. You should also exercise your upper body and the lower half twice a week.

- Eat five to seven balanced meals a day that includes proteins, carbohydrates and fats. An average person would eat three meals a day but not if you are a bodybuilder. If you are serious about building muscle then eat five to seven balanced meals. The caloric value of what you eat should be 15-18 times your current body weight. The food should have 45% carbohydrates, 35% protein and 20% fat. 50% of the meals should be in solid form and the balance may include a substitute liquid meal supplement.

- Stretch before you lift weights You should stretch for half the time you spend lifting weights. Most people go on doing their strength training as well as aerobics without doing the requisite stretching. What stretching does is that restores the muscles to its normal length. When you are in training, your muscle tissues tend to shorten and will weaken. You will get slower and have a greater tendency to get hurt. It’s like this if you lift weights for four hours, you should stretch for two. The action of the muscles when lifting weights must be balanced out with the stretching, or you will definitely have a problem.

- Take supplement which have a proven track record of at least three years. A popular Australian strength training coach has gone on record to say that you should take supplements which have been in the market for three year. These supplements should be time tested and will save the bother of wading through all the advertising hype in the magazines. This rule will knock out most of the supplements. Make sure you take your dose of multi vitamins, fish oil capsules, powdered creatine and protein powders. All the right ingredients to build up your muscle mass.

Often lower back pain is sometimes a hard problem to cope with. There are several explanations behind why some people have this problem. For some individuals, though, doing back strengthening exercises can often aid in dealing with this concern. Other people just want a stronger, healthier back. When you follow the quick and easy exercises listed below, you can quickly do just that.

Doing back exercises do not always guarantee relief in back pain for certain individuals. This is very true for certain people which deal with slight forms of Spina Bifida or other spinal issues. Because of this is it necessary that you talk with your chiropractor or physician before doing any work out for the purposes of relieving back pains.

It is very important that you make sure to warm up at the beginning of your exercise. This is necessary for any type of work out that you do, whether it is for back pain relief or health maintenance. One way that you can do this is by doing a short ten minute exercise activity.

Walking or bike riding can both be an excellent option for accomplishing this. This will help loosen your muscles and allow for a more effective work out. Also, warming up allows your blood to start flowing at a quicker rate throughout your body. Doing this ensures that you can avoid muscle strain, as well as injuries in general, while you are doing your back strengthening exercises.

One type of lower back exercise that you can do from the comfort of your own home is known as a Hip Bridge. To do this you will need to lie on the floor. Once you are laying down you will need to bend your knees while keeping the bottoms of your feet squarely on the floor.

After you are in the required position, start by tightening the muscles in your buttocks and slowly push your hips up. The point of this exercise is to make a straight line from the knees to the shoulders. After you have your body in this position, maintain it for four seconds and then let go, slowly bringing your body back down to the floor. Try doing this lower back exercise at least seven times in a row.

Another back pain exercise you can do are crunches. Use the same starting position described in the Hip Bridge exercise. Once you are in place, put your hands at the back of your head so that you can provide adequate support for your neck and head. Begin by tightening the muscles in your abdomen and raise your shoulders and head roughly six inches from the floor. Maintain this position for about five to six seconds, then release. Repeat this exercise ten times.

One final good back exercise suggestion you could try is called the Wall Squat. To do this exercise you will need to stand about eighteen inches away from a wall, with your back facing it. Gently lean backwards until you are supported by the wall and slide along the surface until you are squatting in front of it. Try to slide as low as you can and maintain that position for roughly eight to nine seconds before pushing yourself into a standing position. Repeat this process for roughly nine to ten times.

Back strengthening exercises are a great option for those who want to increase the quality of their back muscles. There are numerous benefits that result from engaging in these exercises. They can aid you in dealing with either back pain, or strengthening your back muscles.

Finding the cause of the pain in your legs or lower back is the first step in treatment. Nerve conduction studies or x-rays can help in this process. Leg pain is typically caused by compression of the sciatic nerve or the nerve root. It is a major nerve extending through from the lower leg to the lower back through the buttock area.

When the sciatic nerve is under pressure, you will feel symptoms of extreme nerve pain. You can also feel numbness or tingling in the leg. You may lose strength in the leg muscles. Nerve impairment can cause difficulty in walking or even loss of an ability to walk normally. You may experience some difficulty in temperature management with a tendency to have cold feet and ankles.

Sciatic pressure can be due to a bulging or herniated disk that presses upon nerve roots at the spine end of your sciatic nerve. When the disks compress the nerve, it often results in a pain sensation. Nerve pain is different that the pain you experience from a muscular origin.

When the cause of the pain is physical compression of the nerve site, chiropractors work at removing the compression. Chiropractic techniques are not invasive. Your body won’t need to fight off the effects of drugs and chemical pain killers. You won’t need to expend the energy of your body in healing from a surgery.

A significant part of the duties of a Chandler chiropractic professional is to provide education for patients. Techniques for proper posture and movements can prevent additional spinal nerve injury. You can also learn gentle exercises that will strengthen the damaged or weakened areas.

The brain sends pain signals to different parts of the body, which often results in a headache when the area of pain is not addressed effectively. This is one reason that the chiropractor must have an intimate knowledge of the nerve system, spine, bones, and muscles in the body.

When the spine is out of alignment, the body reacts in many ways. An individual may experience severe chronic headaches. Piercing pain when they turn their head in a certain direction, and weakness in their arms and legs. These are the result of pinched nerves relaying pain to the brain from the spine.

Visiting the chiropractor for the first time will include a series of discussions with the Chiropractor about your past activities and overall health. You will be asked about your headaches, when they began and when they are most debilitating. The doctor will also ask about any injuries that you may have experienced that could have affected your spine and neck. Finally, your examination will include x-rays that will be taken of your neck and spine. The x-rays will be evaluated by the doctor who will discuss the results with you and explain where any problems are.

In some cases, the underlying case of the headaches may be an accident or trauma to the body that has taken place several years prior. When the doctor evaluates all of the information you provide, they will develop a plan to address the issues and relieve the headaches and misaligned bones in your body. In most cases, there is immediate pain relief when a person begins their program.
