<p>Why do we have a lower back? &#8211; the lower back area has three purposes namely postural support, better movement and guarding against damage of internal tissue.</p>
<p>Possible causes &#8211; The primary cause for the pain is muscular, ligament or tendon strain as a result of an injury or joint problems. The cushions in the lower back can also be strained in turn causing pressure on nerves.</p>

However it is imperative to identify the cause of the problem and not just treat the symptoms. If the pain persists after a couple of days, please visit your doctor who will do the necessary blood tests, scans or referral to a physiotherapist or chiropractor.</p>
<p>Preventing of lower back pain. Exercise is the best kept secret for prevention of back problems and pain. Keeping the muscles supple by regular exercise will significantly decrease risk of injury. Focus on back muscle targeting workouts. Steer clear from lifting heavy equipment, furniture or even shopping.</p>

Diabetic retinopathy is one that directly effects your vision. It happens because the eye&#8217;s retina is damaged because of the diabetes. So let&#8217;s take a closer look, starting with an explanation of what the retina is.</div>
<p>We don&#8217;t need a detailed explanation here. You just need to understand that the retina is simply a group of nerves that sits in the back of your eyeball. Think of them like a digital camera. They give your brain a picture of what you see. It&#8217;s a simple process that people without vision problems can take for granted. But retinopathy interferes with this process.</p>
<p>The retina has a series of blood vessels. These blood vessels are sensitive and can be split. The result is that the fluid from those vessels will begin to drip into the compound of the eye. And that&#8217;s where the problems start.</p>
<p><span id="more-131"></span>Frequently the first noticeable change will be what look like and obstruction in your sight. Scar tissue starts to form in your eyeball and all around it. As it progresses, the retina becomes detached, and no longer sits in the position it should.</p>
<p>In diabetics this is more likely to happen because elevated blood sugar levels can trigger the problem. And what makes this worse is that it is normal not to have any symptoms until the problem reaches the severe stage. The end result is that by the time you realize you have a problem, it can be too late to fully correct it. Diabetic especially need to go to the eye doctor a minimum of once a year. By doing so the problem can be caught early enough to make correcting it much easier.</p>
<p>And even the earliest symptoms should mean a trip to the eye doctor. Look for any changes in your field of vision. Some people will notice what are called &#8220;floaters&#8221;, black or white spots that happen for what seems like no reason. If your vision seems weaker or blurry you may also have diabetic retinopathy. Double vision is another symptom. If you notice any of these, even in a mild form, you should contact your eye doctor immediately.</p>
<p>The good news is that often treatment is not necessary. But if treatment is needed, there are several options designed to reduce lost vision. You and your doctor will decide between prescription medication, laser treatments or more invasive surgery.</p>
<p>The biggest factor in a successful treatment is to catch diabetic retinopathy early. Make sure yearly visits to an eye doctor are scheduled, that way if treatment is necessary it can be started before the problem gets out of hand.</p>

When it comes to naturally gaining height though, those stretching exercises will show their true value and importance, not just by increasing height, but by improving flexibility as well.</div>
<p>There are plenty of different exercises, of varying effectiveness and difficulty, that can be used to target these key areas, and we&#8217;ll examine three of them below.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Trunk Twist</span></strong> &#8211; This exercise can be fun to perform, and gives your spine a great workout, putting it through a full range of motion, horizontally and vertically. It also targets the abs in one fell swoop as well, so you can kill two ailing birds with one stone.</p>
<p><span id="more-37"></span>Find an open area on the floor where you can lie down, and place something, or use an existing object, to help anchor your feet. This object will be bearing the full brunt of your weight, so it must be solid enough to handle it without risk of toppling over.</p>
<p>Rather than performing a combination of sit-up and twist, you&#8217;ll solely be twisting in this exercise. With your hands locked behind your head, raise yourself off the ground to a comfortable position, not too high or low, and slowly swing your body as far to each side as you can. Repeat this at least 5 times, performing the routine for 30 seconds each time.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Roll Over Stretch</span></strong> &#8211; This one&#8217;s a little different, and requires some existing flexibility to perform adequately. Lying on your back arms flat at your sides, use your upper body to help lift your legs up into the air and over your body, coming down on the other side behind you. Once your feet have touched down behind you, lower your shoulders back down to the ground as much as you can to get into an ideal position to help stretch out your back. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds each time.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Wall Bridge</span></strong> &#8211; Find a position approximately two feet from a wall and stand with your back to it. You&#8217;ll need to test this out once or twice to get a good feel for the necessary distance. Now reach your hands up into the air and behind your head, all the way back until theyre touching the wall, with your back still to the wall. Now slowly use this leverage with the wall to walk down the wall with your hands, as far as you can go. Once you&#8217;ve reached your limit, climb slowly back up the wall with your hands, and then push off near the top to get back to a standing position. This is a tremendous workout for flexibility of the back.</p>
<p>These are three great exercises of varying difficulty and physical requirements. Try each of them out at least once to get a feel for them, and if they seem to work for you, go ahead and add them into your regular exercise routine. A height gain will surely follow down the road.</p>
