Candida is a yeast or fungus that cannot be killed completely. All of us have a little bit of it in our intestines. Sometimes you can get what is called a yeast overgrowth.

When we take antibiotics, have a poor diet, or take birth control just as a few examples it can cause candida or yeast overgrowth.

Candida has over 100 different symptoms and they usually seem unrelated. Don’t get frustrated when you can’t get a proper diagnosis. This may be something you have to research and diagnose on your own.

Candida diet is very restrictive. It is even worse if you are having really bad cravings. Stick to it for as long as you can and once you start feeling better it will get easier.

Some of the foods you should stay away from are candy, cake, ice cream, pop, bread, vinegar, condiments, alcohol, mushrooms, peanuts, fruits, any processed or canned food with dextrose, corn syrup or yeast.

Stick to the healthier foods like lean proteins and fresh vegetables. Drink mostly water if you can. Avoid tap water because the chlorine can feed the yeast. Add other foods gradually because you may have some food allergy’s due to the candida.

You also have to do something to kill the yeast. One option is to find a good colon cleanse. Proceed with caution because if the yeast overgrowth is extreme when you start killing it you could get very ill. I would talk to a good alternative doctor first.

You must replenish the good bacteria in your system. Find a good probiotic. Probiotics are natural antibiotics against yeast and they help enhance bowel function. These also help decrease all the symptoms you have been feeling with the yeast overgrowth.
